This document presents an RF exposure evaluation for a Bluetooth device, adhering to the guidelines outlined in 447498 D01 General RF Exposure Guidance v06. The evaluation focuses on determining whether the device meets the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) test exclusion thresholds for devices operating between 100 MHz and 6 GHz with test separation distances of ≤50 mm.
The evaluation process involves calculating a value based on the maximum power of the channel, the minimum test separation distance, and the RF channel transmit frequency. The formula used is [(max. power of channel, including tune-up tolerance, mW)/(min. test separation distance, mm)] • [√f(GHz)]. The resulting value is then compared against the SAR limits of ≤3.0 for 1-g SAR and ≤7.5 for 10-g extremity SAR.
For the Bluetooth device under evaluation, the maximum power is determined to be 0.8mW at 2402MHz. Using a test separation distance of 5mm, the calculated value is 0.2485, which is less than 3. Therefore, based on this evaluation, SAR testing is not required for this Bluetooth device.
